- Tokamak DAO: The smart contract that holds decision making power for agendas within the Tokamak Network
- Agenda: Proposals to change certain policies or factors that affect the Tokamak Network ecosystem
- Agenda Propose Cost: The cost (tokens are burned) to propose an agenda in the Tokamak Network. These are paid in TON
- Operator: The principal agent for running and verifying layer 2 blockchains. In the DAO specifically, operators will create empty blocks
- DAO Committee: The operator who has decision making power regarding Tokamak Network agendas
- Committee Member: Operators who are members of the DAO committee
- Committee Slot: DAO committee slots can be empty, or filled by anyone. In order to replace an existing committee member, you must stake, or have been delegated an amount of TON greater than that of an existing committee member.
- Agenda Member: Operators who can vote on a specific agenda after its notification period has ended. Agenda members are the sitting committee members at the time that the notification period for the agenda in question ends and the voting period begins.
- DAO Reward: Compensation provided to those operators delegated to be Tokamak Network committee members as long as they maintain their committee slot. This is paid in TON. These are appropriated from TON seigniorage generated through staking.
- Challenge: When a DAO committee slot is empty or you have staked/been delegated more TON than a sitting committee member, a challenge may be initiated in order to occupy the slot in question
- Maximum Slot: The maximum number of operators who can participate in the DAO committee.
- Quorum: The number of yes votes required for an agenda to pass through the DAO committee
- Passed and Rejected: Agendas receiving a number of yes’s greater than the minimum are passed, and those received less are rejected.
- Yes/No/Abstain: Agenda members can vote Yes, No, or Abstain on a given agenda. Only Yes votes are counted towards passing an agenda.
- Agenda Minimum Notice Period: The period between when an agenda is created and when the agenda committee is formed. The agenda committee cannot be designated until after the agenda minimum notice period has passed. Also, at the end of the agenda minimum notice period, the current DAO committee members are set as agenda members in the given agendas committee
- Agenda Voting Period: After the agenda committee members have been designated, they must vote within the agenda voting period Yes, No or Abstain for the given agenda. If a member does not vote, their vote is automatically counted as Abstain.
- Candidates and Operators: All candidates are operators, but not all operators are candidates. OPerators create and verify blocks in the layer 2 blockchain and are delegated TON tokens from users. They then receive and distribute TON seigniorage. Candidates, as a special type of operator, commit empty blocks. Accordingly, they do not participate in block creation and verification. But, like other operators, they do receive seigniorage. Unlike standard operators, they do participate in Tokamak Network governance. In order to become a candidate, a standard operator will have to go through the registration process.
- Support, Delegator and Staker: Supporters, delegators and stakers are the same in that they delegate tokens to a given operator. Delegators can receive newly minted tokens in the proportion they delegated to the operator. The difference is that supporters delegate their tokens to those who they believe will make decisions that are in the best interest of the Tokamak Network, while stakers or delegators will delegate their tokens to those who will be the best and producing and validating blocks.
